December 6th marked the WBID's 26th Annual Tree Lighting. It was a complete success with a turnout of over 300 people to watch Woodhaven's huge, gorgeous tree light up in an array of assorted colors.
Besides catching a glimpse of the beautiful tree, attendees were able to snack on complimentary holiday cookies, hot cocoa, take selfies with assorted props
and a festive selfie frame, appreciate the appeasing caroling done by school kids from local PS 97, enjoy Santa, Mrs. Claus and Buddy the elf's appearance in a decked out car, complete with lights and garland, take in a jovial jazz performance by the AfroLatineers, and partake in raffles. Raffle prizes included a wine basket, gift certificates from the local businesses and more.
The Woodhaven BID will continue prioritizing community driven events to foster a vibrant neighborhood.
