Woodhaven has a new Latin restaurant in the mix, La Oficina Grill & Bar, owned by Cecilio Albayero and Marina Rodriguez. Owner, Cecilio Albayero, has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years. He comes with plenty of experience under his belt, with La Oficina being his 15th restaurant. Cecilio has several restaurants in Brooklyn, among other places. Does the name Antojitos ring a bell? Well, he is an owner of that restaurant on the avenue too, so he is no stranger to the neighborhood. Marina and Cecilio chose to open their businesses in Woodhaven because they believe this is the best area for business, being close to Forest Park. They like that the neighborhood is diverse, which is significant for the business. The owners feel that the population of Woodhaven ‘makes the ambiance great.’ La Oficina’s best dishes are its arepas and papayas and judging from my lunch there, its papusas, as well! The menu is contemporary, mainly consisting of Latin flare but there are also variations of food from various regions. La Oficina is a warm family restaurant with an inviting atmosphere. Marina and Cecilio plan on opening up the restaurant’s basement for catering services.
After eating here, myself, I can wholly endorse the delectable-ness of the menu but don’t take my word for it—try La Oficina for yourself!
